Job Description: |

| • | Responsible for design, code, and implementation of new applications in Cognos/Teradata Enterprise Data warehouse/Datastage environment for an Integrated Telecom service provider. |
Role and Key Responsibilities: |
|
| • | Develop ETL procedures to capture data from different sources using ETL tools or UNIX scripts |
| • | Extend and improve ETL jobs as new data sources are integrated into enterprise data warehouse |
| • | Liaise with data providers within other parts of the organization to ensure that data is provided accurately and in a timely manner |
| • | Develop, maintain, and document data standards, guidelines and procedures |
| • | Interaction with End Users and Business Analysts |
| • | Design and code ETL scripts and mappings (i.e DataStage) and program to meet special ETL needs |
| • | Customize ETL environment and Support ETL tools |
| • | Optimize & Tune Performance of ETL Jobs |
Educational Qualification/relevant Experience : |
|
| • | The candidate should possess a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 6 years of industry experience ideally in Teradata Enterprise Data-warehousing implementation/support environment in a Telecom company. In addition, the candidate would possess : |
| • | A minimum of 3-4 years experience in DataStage ETL Development |
| • | Design and development of parallel ETL processes with IBM InfoSphere DataStage (formerly Ascential DataStage)and Teradata Scripts using Teradata Tools and Utilities (TTU) |
| • | Detailed knowledge of Dimensional Modeling, Denormalized Data Structures, OLAP, and Data Warehousing concept |
| • | Strong data cleansing and standardization skills to ensure consistent consolidated reporting |
| • | Database optimization techniques and Database design and development preferably with Oracle RDBMS & TERADATA |
| • | Experience working with users to define and document business requirements |
| • | Good listening skills to be able to understand ETL processes and interpret those needs into effective ETL design |
| • | Teradata Certified Professional/Master a definite plus |
| • | Experience in handling ETL interfacing of CDR/Event Records in Telecom a definite plus |
| • | Good spoken/written communication skills, presentation skill and ability to interact with end-user |
